About

I’ve never written about this before so be patient and get a cup of coffee or something.  This might be a long story but I feel that it’s important for you to know who I am and what my business is about.  If you see yourself in some part of my story, you know you’re in the right place.I had been searching for as long as I could remember.  Searching for what, I’m not quite sure.  Something that would make me feel better about me.  Make me fit in.  Stop the pain and the doubt.  Even though I appeared to fit in and have it all together on the outside, I was suffering and just going through the motions on the inside.

I had what I now know is a pretty typical childhood.  I say typical because most of the people I meet and talk to have had similar experiences and disappointments.  It wasn’t pretty by most standards but it was what I knew.  Both of my parents were alcoholics.  They were too caught up in their own disease and world of fear to notice me, let alone nurture and teach me.  I also experienced physical abuse when my father was particularly angry and intoxicated.  I always felt invisible and unimportant.

Maybe your situation didn’t involve alcoholism.  Maybe it was drug abuse, or infidelity, or physical and/or sexual abuse, domestic violence.  Maybe it was absent parents (either literally or figuratively).  The point is, most of us did not grow up in ideal circumstances.  I have met very few people who have.

These experiences shaped me in both positive and negative ways.  It’s unavoidable.  You may think you came out unscathed but you didn’t.  We just develop very clever ways of getting through the fear and dealing with the emotional pain and self doubt that it causes.

I became an overachiever and perfectionist.  This served me for a long time.  I did well in school and was always considered the “smart” one in my family.  This really didn’t sit well with me.  I knew I wasn’t any smarter than anyone else.  As a matter of fact, I felt stupid most of the time.  I worried that if people really knew me, they wouldn’t like me.  Smart was just a lie and a mask that I wore to fit in and look normal.

The problems started appearing more frequently as I got older.  I wasn’t happy and suffered from pretty extreme self-doubt.  The perfectionist thing just got me into trouble on the job when I couldn’t seem to get anything completed or tried to hold others to my standard.  The feeling invisible led me to act out in inappropriate ways.  Feeling unimportant made me want to do anything to get noticed and seem important.  I became a know-it-all and a bulldozer.  I would just mow people down in order to get my way or get noticed.  I was very unhappy and probably not very well liked.

Through a series of events, I discovered Life Coaching.  I had never heard of Life Coaching.  I was intrigued and wanted more information.  I began reading Fearless Living, By Rhonda Britten.  This book was the catalyst for me beginning the changes I wanted in my life.  I eventually entered the coaching program at the Fearless Living Institute and learned from Rhonda Britten and her staff of coaches.  Starting this process of working with a coach and learning how to coach others, absolutely and permanently changed me.

I am now the confident person that everyone thought I was so long ago.  I believe in myself and know what my talents and gifts are.  I use them without apology.  I still have fear and doubt sometimes.  That will never go away.  The difference is that now I have some very powerful tools to use when fear and doubt creep in.

My wish is for you to have peace of mind, confidence, joy and happiness in your life and stop pretending that everything is ok.  Stop going through the motions and really begin to enjoy who you are.  It is possible and I am living proof.  If I can do it, you can do it.  Are you ready?  Are you truly ready to face the fear and go there?  If you’re ready, I’m here to help you.  We can do this together with me guiding you and providing a safe place for you to discover who you really are and what you have to offer this world.
