So, a few months ago I wrote a blog post titled, Resistance is Futile. I had to go back and read it today to remind myself of what I know. I am really struggling with a certain circumstance in my life right now. I am SUPER resistant to what is going on. I am letting this situation make me angry, irritated and resentful. This is affecting my physical health and my general happiness.
What I know is that I will continue to feel this way and let this situation bring me down and suck my energy until I choose to lean into what is. This situation isn't going to change anytime soon. Resisting it, and being angry about it is truly futile.
What would happen if I leaned into it? What would happen if I just did what I can and didn't worry about the rest? What if I chose to change my attitude about it?
I intend to find out. Starting right now, I will do what I can and not worry about the rest. I'm leaning into the situation and choosing to change my attitude about it. I can feel my anger and irritation slowly drain away as I type this.
Where in your life can you lean into what is? Accept what you can't change. Do what you can and not worry about the rest.
I'm so thankful I have the tools I have. Even though I teach my clients how to make these same difficult choices, I have to be reminded sometimes. We don't always absorb life's lessons the first time they come around. When the same pattern comes up again, it just means you have more learning to do.
I obviously have more learning and growing to do in this area. Bring it on!
Is there a recurring pattern that comes up in your life? Are you ready to lean into it and learn what you are meant to learn from it? I would like to hear about it.
